Smile Makeovers

If you are considering making smile improvements, you may have more than one thing you would like to change. It might be a chipped tooth, some staining or a gap that has bothered you for years.

A smile makeover in Hampton Park addresses all these concerns in one treatment plan. At Hampton Park Dental, our dentists start with your oral health and plan each step with you. We also offer payment plans to help you manage the cost.

What Is a Smile Makeover?

A smile makeover is a treatment plan that combines two or more dental treatments to change how your smile looks. Your plan may include straightening, whitening, repairing or replacing teeth, depending on your needs.

Your smile makeover treatment usually takes place over several visits. A simple plan may take a few weeks to complete. One that includes aligners or implants can take several months.

Is a Smile Makeover Right for You?

A smile makeover may suit you if you have several concerns, such as stained, chipped, worn, crooked or missing teeth. Some patients start with one or two treatments and add more later.

Healthy teeth and gums come first. If you have tooth decay or gum disease, we will treat it before beginning any cosmetic work. Your dentist will talk with you about what each treatment can and cannot do to ensure your expectations are realistic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! If you're considering extensive dental treatment, we can help you gain early access to your superannuation funds to help you cover the cost of your treatment. Early super access can be ideal in these situations:

  • You or at least one family member have superannuation funds
  • You don't have personal health fund insurance
  • It would be a financial hardship to cover the cost of your treatment with personal resources

Our team can help you with the paperwork for early super access while a SuperCare representative walks you through the rest of the process. You can contact our team for more information on early super access.

Note: Accessing superannuation for dental treatment is subject to eligibility and approval by the relevant government agency. We can assist with the process, but approval is not guaranteed.

Other Convenient Payment Options

If early super access is not an option for you, we do offer other options that can help reduce your out-of-pocket expenses for dental care, such as:

  • A gap-free comprehensive check-up and clean for eligible patients on any private health fund
  • Preferred provider status with Medibank, Bupa, CBHS, HCF, NIB and Smile, which may mean even lower out-of-pocket costs on selected treatments
  • Relationships with third-party companies that can offer affordable monthly payment plans, like Humm, Afterpay, TLC
  • Medicare Child Dental Benefit
  • HICAPS claims processing

Eligibility for health fund benefits, payment plans, and superannuation access varies depending on the provider and individual circumstances. Terms, conditions, and lending criteria apply. Please check with your health fund or finance provider to confirm your eligibility before treatment.

If you need help sorting out the best payment arrangement for your dental care, please get in touch with your Hampton Park dentist and speak with one of our knowledgeable and helpful team members.

The cost of dental treatment depends on the type of procedures you need, and it's very specific to each patient's unique needs. The best way to determine the cost of your treatment is to book an evaluation with one of our dentists to determine your own treatment needs.

During your evaluation, our dentists discuss your oral health goals with you and gather information about your smile and dental health with an exam, x-rays, and photos of your teeth. After your evaluation, you'll clearly understand your treatment needs and options, what your timeline looks like for finishing, and the cost.

Payment Options for Every Budget in Hampton Park

We don't want finances to keep you from getting the dental care you need, so we offer several excellent options for payment or to help reduce your out-of-pocket expenses.

  • Preferred provider status with several private health funds, including Medibank, Bupa, HCF, NIB, CBHS and Smile
  • Early access to superannuation funds for extensive dental treatment
  • Relationships with third-party companies that can offer affordable monthly payment plans, like Humm, Afterpay, TLC
  • Medicare Child Dental Benefit - Bulk billing
  • HICAPS claims processing

Your Hampton Park dentist can help you navigate your payment options to ensure you can comfortably fit your dental treatment into your budget

Please Note: Eligibility for health fund benefits, payment plans, and superannuation access varies depending on the provider and individual circumstances. Terms, conditions, and lending criteria apply. Please check with your health fund or finance provider to confirm your eligibility before treatment.

Treatments That May Be Part of Your Plan

Clear Aligners

Clear aligners are removable plastic trays that move teeth gradually into a straighter position. You typically wear them for most of the day and change to a new set every one to two weeks. Treatment often takes several months.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening lightens the natural colour of your teeth. It does not change the colour of fillings, crowns or veneers, so we usually recommend whitening before having these treatments.

Composite Bonding

Composite bonding uses tooth-coloured resin to repair chips, close small gaps or reshape teeth. We can often complete this process in one visit, with little or no removal of tooth structure. Bonding can stain or chip over time and may need repair or replacement.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin shells bonded to the front of your teeth to change their shape, size or colour. We typically need to remove a small amount of enamel first, so this treatment cannot be reversed. Veneers typically take two or more visits.

Crowns and Bridges

A crown is a tooth-shaped cap that covers and protects a damaged or weak tooth. A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by attaching to the teeth on either side of the gap. Both usually take two visits, with a temporary in place between them.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root made of titanium that we surgically place in the jawbone. You need enough healthy bone to support it, and healing usually takes three to six months before we fit the final crown. Implants are a significant investment and need regular check-ups to stay healthy.

Smile Makeover Cost and Payment Options

The cost of a smile makeover varies depending on which treatments you need and how many teeth are involved. A plan with whitening and bonding usually costs less than one with veneers or implants. We provide an estimate before any treatment begins.

Private health insurance does not usually cover purely cosmetic treatment. Some parts of your plan, such as crowns or implants, may attract a rebate depending on your level of cover.

To help manage the cost, we offer payment plans through Humm, Afterpay and TLC. SuperCare may also help eligible patients access their superannuation for larger treatment plans.
